Have a healthy dinner on the table in under 30 minutes with this easy recipe for a delicious Thai Baked Salmon with Cilantro-Chili Sauce.
Jump to Recipe Print RecipeRich in omega 3 fatty acids and protein, salmon is a healthy option for quick and easy weeknight meals. This Thai Baked Salmon with Cilantro-Chili Sauce is one of the tastiest fish recipes you can make in under 30 minutes.
This dish never disappoints and I often get asked for the recipe by family and friends. The savoury spicy sauce in this recipe is really what gives the salmon so much flavour.
How to Make Cilantro-Chili Sauce
The sauce doesn't need any cooking, all that you need to do is combine some simple ingredients and you have this delicious condiment that will jazz up the fish.
Here is the list of ingredients in the sauce:
- small onion (yellow, white or red)
- red bell pepper
- cilantro
- clove of garlic
- soya sauce
- lemon juice
- light tasting oil
- honey
- sriracha sauce
The sauce can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated, or you can make it while the salmon is in the oven. Refrigerate any leftover sauce in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
How to Serve Thai Baked Salmon
You can substitute the salmon steaks for fillet, especially if you are feeding children and don't want to deal with the pin bones.
I chose to bake the salmon for this recipe, but you could cook the salmon whichever way you prefer. Whether you grill, pan fry or bake the salmon, it's really the sauce that makes this dish so delicious and addictive.
You can serve this Thai Baked Salmon with Cilantro-Chili Sauce with steamed rice and sauteed or steamed veggies such as baby bok choy or broccoli for a complete meal.
Enjoy!

Love salmon with the bones, that's exactly what we had for dinner last night with baked veggies. This recipe does sound good with the separate sauce. The colors are robust and makes for an attractive plate with the rice and bok choy.
